NPC Updates / Changes for 2010
                 *
2009 NPC Membership Registration Below *

1) The NPC yearly membership for 2010 will be $90.

2)
National Qualification - Competitors who qualified for national NPC events after Jan 1 2009 are
qualified through 2010.

3)
Bikini - In this relatively new division there are several acceptable options for suits.
Many of the competitors are wearing "off the rack" bikini's, 2 piece figure suits, or tops w/"boy shorts
(very short bottoms).  All of which must be in good taste at the discretion of the head judge and must
not be "hiked up" the buttocks.  Bikini is a very good addition to the NPC physique events but is meant
to be treated as a
competition, not an exhibition.  All attire and presentation must be acceptable to
the entire average American family.

4) At times there are questions concerning placing in one class against any given competitor and in
another class placing differently against the same competitor.  There are several reasons this can
happen.  Below are just a couple of examples

1) a competitor displays or presents themselves differently

2) conditioning can change in as short as 15-20 minutes due to water / food intake etc

The judges are expected to judge what is in front of them at the time, on stage, not what they could or
have seen.

**************************************** 2009 NPC updates *****************************************************

1)         Starting in 2009 there will be an addition to the NPC Physique events at the discretion of the
Promoters.  There will be a new division:
Bikini.  Bikini will essentially be a division designed to let women
participate in the physique events with a bit of a less developed and conditioned physique than Women's
Figure or Women's Bodybuilding.   Women's
Bikini will be judged in a 2 piece suit of the competitor's choice,
but must be tasteful (no thongs or excessively small tops).  There will be a short presentation as in Women's
Figure but there will be only two turns instead of the standard four 1/4 turns used in Figure or Bodybuilding.

2)         In 2009 there will be a slight change in NPC national qualification.  Instead of a two year qualification, as
in the past, a national qualification will now last for one year.

3)         As some people have discovered on the Internet, there will no longer be a one piece round in NPC
Women's Figure competitions.

4)         At the end of the competition season in 2009, there will be a new addition.  There will be an award
presented to the
Ohio District Champion, determined by the athlete that acquires the most points for
placement in the 2009 season in competition.

Ohio NPC Judges / Judging
In 2001 the NPC changed the state of Ohio into one district.  Previously it was divided into the Ohio North and
Ohio south district.  Rick Bayardi was named Chairman and Rick Ruether (myself) as Vice Chairman.  Both of
us have been involved as competitors / officials in the NPC since the 80's.  Since then we have been working
together to make the Ohio competitions among the best in the USA.  We have also changed the judges panels
to incorporate the best judges available as far as knowledge and experience.  All of our judges (many compete
or competed on a national or pro level in the IFBB) are or have been competitors, so we are familiar with the
amount of work involved in preparing to compete.  This being the case we know how important is to give proper
consideration to each and every competitor.  We feel at this point in time the shows are as fairly judged as
possible.  *
